Vote4MyStory.com - the Short Story Contest that Promotes all its Writers

Truckee, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2008 -- A new website for short story contests has launched at Vote4MyStory.com, the contest that guarantees publicity to every writer. Submissions are made into e-books, which are then available for purchase. Typical writing contests only promote one author, the contest winner. Vote4mystory's unique design allows writers to benefit from the marketing efforts of others. Every author has the marketing power of 32 other authors and Vote4mystory promoting their work. Judges are the public at large, and unknowns get opportunity for discovery on a global scale.

The categories are fresh, compared to old contest categories like romance and fiction. Subjects include; Tales from Traveling, Dumb Things I've Done, My Novel's Great Beginning, Near Death Experiences, How I'd Like to Change the World, Great Pet Stories, Kid's Do the Darndest Things, The Moment that Changed My Life Forever, Children's Bedtime Stories, How I Met My True Love, Random Acts of Kindness, Once Upon a Time, and miscellaneous others.

E-books go live once filled with 33 entries per category. Contrasting old contests where writers had to win to get read, Vote4MyStory guarantees every writer and their website exposure.

Entries are limited to 3,000 words or less. Odds of winning are better than 1 out of 17. Entrants compete for $500 first place and $200 second. All winners are also marketed as featured writers on the website for one month. Selected shorts are made into hardbound publications for those who want their stories in a physical book. Getting started involves uploading a story and paying the $24.95 entry fee.

Vote4MyStory was created by Jana and Jason Matthews, writers who experienced the difficulty in getting published/marketed and knew there had to be a better way. Jason commented, "We're starting something that creates a community of writers, where one person may benefit tremendously from another writer's marketing." 10% of all profits go to charitable causes.
