Rick Hendrix to Write Life Story
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) April 8, 2009 -- Rick Hendrix (http://www.rickhendrix.com) will tell his life story from humble beginnings to helping seat the first black President Barack Obama.
Writer and biographer Evie Hawkins confirmed on Sunday that Rick Hendrix (http://www.rickhendrix.com) had decided to go ahead with the book, which will be published this Christmas season.
Rick Hendrix, 39, said: "It's pretty scary, but exciting, and I'm looking forward to it. I find it very rewarding to share these parts of my life that are scars, and no longer open wounds."
He added: "Having always vowed never to write my autobiography, I am very fortunate to have the talent and abilities of Evie Hawkins to help me make this journey into a new place."
Hawkins said the book would be "more honest" than most Christian memoirs.
"Hendrix has promised that he is going to be very frank about his entire life," said a spokeswoman.
Born Richard Binghames Hendrix, Ambassador Hendrix left school at 14 to work in radio before joining the Garth Brooks, Whitney Houston and gospel music train.
He turned to alcohol and drugs after years of abuse and later steered a company that helped artist sell over a quarter of a billion records.
His first break was a radio job at 10 years old, which led to a string of unsuccessful radio gigs. His fortunes changed when he was chosen to manage cult icon Tiny Tim in the 80's.
